Section 6: Perkins Loans

Perkins loans carry a lower interest rate than other federal student loans.  They are originated directly by participating schools, and depend on the availability of funding from the Department of Education each year.  See the chart in Section 10 for annual loan limits and interest rates.  No origination fees are charged for Perkins loans.
